School Visits

schools-2The topic of the Picts provides opportunities for a stimulating and absorbing study, and has now become well-established as part of the curriculum in schools all over the country. Pictavia has a key role in supporting and assisting educational groups who wish to study the Picts, and offers excellent opportunities for day trips. We have experience of working with students of all ages - from primary school through to university level - and can tailor a visit to meet the needs of your group.

As well as the use of a Pictavia tour guide, we have an established Education Room which can be used for eating packed lunches and for group activities. Depending on the length of your visit, we can offer a range of related activities and games to enhance learning about the Picts and their lifestyles.

In addition, Pictavia has produced a dedicated resource pack for schools. The illustrated narrative - following the adventures of the Pictish twins Taran and Triduana - includes a broad range of questions and activites. The pack has been designed to complement a visit to Pictavia, but many of the activities are suitable for use in the classroom or elsewhere.
