Basket Weaving

Basket Weaving – Saturday 16th August, 1-3pm
Rachel Bower of Woven Willow is based in Forfar. Her baskets are made using traditional weaving techniques very similar to that used by the Picts. Different colours are obtained by processes including boiling and steaming. During the winter months when the ‘sap is down’ Rachel also collects material from local hedgerows to add different colours and textures. Come along and see Rachel at work, chat to her about the techniques used, and have the chance to buy some of her original work. www.wovenwillow.co.uk.
